The Black Lion Hospital received a donation of personal computers from the University
of Central Lancashire in England, UK. People to People has coordinated this project
and donated money to install a computer network within a single room at the hospital.
Similarly, P2P has donated money and coordinated activities to maintain the lecture
hall broken chairs, windows, damaged curtains, and deteriorated floors of Black
Lion Hospital. It has also played key roles in developing curriculum for medical
faculty specialty program through mobilizing diaspora experts.
The Black Lion Hospital received a donation of ninty personal computers from the
University of Central Lancashire in England, UK. People To People has coordinated
this project and donated money to install a computer network within a single room
at the hospital. These computers will provide the following benefits to the hospital:
* Provide an easy to follow guide to online and offline medical resources
* Access to e-mail
* Ability to scan documents
* Ability to share information between different hospital departments
* Access to medical simulation database hosted by Manchester University, England
* A wider access to statistical packages already in use within Black Lion Hospital
* Word processing
* Spreadsheets
* And presentation preparation
In the future, the information on this network could be made available to other
regional hospitals within Ethiopia.
People To People thanks University of Central Lancashire in England for the donation
of the ninety personal computers. Thanks to the university's generosity, these computers
are now being put to good use by Black Lion Hospital (a picture link). Hats off
