People to People was founded and named after its fundamental concept: “from People
to People”. The intent has always been to capture the hearts and minds of Ethiopians
and supporters of Ethiopia in the diaspora to play an active role in mitigating
the impact of brain drain and to ignite a passion for realizing our shared responsibility
to give back to our homeland. People to People is by design, an institution inspired
by compassion, built with love and sustained with kindness. Its core belief is “to
give back” in order to save and improve lives in the home land, a belief which at
the same time is adding meaning to one’s own life. Most people define greatness
through wealth, popularity or holding a position at a public office. But greatness
comes from character, caring and contribution. We are where we are and we have what
we have because of our people. It is therefore only logical to commit ourselves
to give back something priceless, hope and voice to turn their dreams into a reality.
